Domain Name Locking/Unlocking

You can lock your Domain names from your Customer Control Panel [CCP]for added security. Domain Name Locking ensures that a domain name is not hijacked by any unauthorized Transfer Request. The Domain Name Lock enforces a Registrar Lock that ensures that a Locked Domain's transfer request gets failed at the Registry itself. If a Domain Name is locked it ensures you the following:

1. Contact and Name Servers can not be modified in this state.

2. Such domains can not be Deleted/Renewed until this lock is removed.

3. A Transfer [Away] Request for this domain name to another Registrar will fail at the Registry itself and will not be allowed until the Domain is unlocked.

4. The Toolbar will display only the "Unlock Domain" button untill the domain is unlocked.

Domains can be Locked or Unlocked from the Customer Control Panel [CCP] as follows:

1. Logon to the Customer Control Panel

2. Click on the particular "Order" that you want to Lock/Unlock from the List

3. Click on the "Lock Domain" button in the Toolbar to lock this Order. Similarly, a locked domain can be Unlocked by clicking on the "Unlock" button in the Toolbar.
